Fall Skincare Tips: What to Change in Your Routine

We are having gorgeous late summer weather here in Mpls, but we all know what comes next – cooler weather and super dry air! No matter what corner of the country you live in, you’ll notice that it’s helpful to make a few changes to your skincare routine with each seasonal change.

Keep reading to see how we transition our summer skincare regimen into fall…

*Cleanser: While we love foaming cleansers for summertime, in the cooler months they may be too drying for some skin types. Consider switching to a gentler cleanser during these months; we love @neutrogena Hydro Boost cleanser and @Cerave Hydrating Cleanser. We also love cleansing oils for fall, which can be applied directly to dry skin! @maeloveskincare Take The Day Off is a great option.

*Toner: While toner is a nice refresh during the summertime, it isn’t always necessary in the colder seasons. We sprinkle in @pixibeauty 5% glycolic acid Glow Tonic twice a week for a nice glow that doesn’t cause much irritation for most skin types.

*Moisturizer: Here is where you can really amp up your routine for the cooler weather ahead! If you’ve been using a lotion formula, consider switching to a thicker, more emollient cream. Some great options at different price points include @cerave Moisturizing Cream, @obagi Hydrate and Hydrate Luxe, @skinceuticals Triple Lipid Restore and @acure Seriously Soothing Cloud Cream.

*Serum: Our daily serum stays pretty consistent throughout the year – we love a good Vitamin C! Something we try to incorporate more as the temps fall is Hyaluronic Acid. @Skinceuticals HA Intensifier and @larocheposayus Hyalu are great options. HA serums can be applied directly to your skin or mixed in with a moisturizing cream for all day hydration.

Do your skin needs seem to change from summer to fall? What are some of your colder weather skincare favorites?
