Dermaplaning: The Most Common Question We Received

After posting about a wonderful experience with dermaplaning on our Instagram, our DMs were FULL of awesome questions about this procedure. Dermaplaning is the removal of dead skin cells and vellus hairs with a tiny blade. Many treatments are followed by a gentle chemical peel, as dermaplaning allows the peel to absorb easily and the treatments compliment each other nicely. We posted about our experience (check out ‘highlights’ for video of the treatment!) and you all wanted to discuss! We received so many questions and positive feedback regarding dermaplaning.

Far and away, the most common question we received was, ‘does the hair grow back thicker’?

The answer is ‘no.’ The tiny vellus (peach fuzz) hairs do grow back, but they grow exactly as they were. For this reason, dermaplaning is the kind of treatment that you could do once (to jump start a skincare regimen or prepare for an event) or do regularly (for optimal benefit, allowing for products to absorb more effectively and the skin to be soft and smooth over time.)
